        MESSAGE BOARD #4
Hello, Narcing, this is Lily Beltran.  I hope this greeting of good afternoon ! will find to be a pleasant day in Montreal.  Our whole week in Winnipeg was so hot and today it is better.  I was able to do something in my garden.

I just want to ask your help to spread around the news in Montreal and to all east Area of Canada.  I am sure Vic Festejo did send you our extension of invitation for our membership to all FEU graduates.  This is  voluntary and the membership of $ 30.00 per year or $50.00 per 2 years. I know you are busy but maybe you can still spare a time for our Newly formed FEU Medical Technology Alumni Association of North America. Please let me know if we can put you as one of the East Canada Contact Persons Class 1969,  with the Class 1966, Orlando Villanueva, who attended the reunion 2010. We voted him for the east area and he resides in Scarborough, Ontario.  His email is orlando_villanueva@live.ca  both can coordinate any membership. The more members the better to serve good purpose for the FEU.   Kindly give me your most visited email address. It is always good to have more than one contact person and Orly will be the Chair Membership person.  I suggested to him to contact you but I do not have your other email. I found this email address with your website under officers. Thank you again. Please visit the website that Bert Gomez started for us.
All the best,
Lily Beltran- 1967 grad. Winnipeg, Manitoba

Romy and Narcing,
Thank you for the response to help our newly born FEU Medical Technology Alumni Association of North America.  It is a wonderful way to work with all motivated leaders.  Romy, your invitation to all your group of 1977 graduates is another way to increase our membership. Vic Festejo will probably join your reunion this August 28, 2010 in San Diego, California. I know in 2007 reunion you were able to help us by posting our messages to welcome all of the FEU graduates to attend, and that was a success.

Narcing, Please post the September 2012 Reunion in Hawaii in your 1969
website. I know two FEU graduates in Montreal, Tessie Lucena and Luz Bolislis. I will give them a call to join us.

I also talked to Gene Eduardo, president of PAMET Florida and will start looking for more FEU graduates. She told me she always visit the website;  www.feumedtech.org   She will join our group and be a coordinator to help spread the news. She just announced the Convention next year will be in Orlando, Florida most probably Sept. or October. Alma and Bert, she will be contacting you both re: membership. I just read the new email from Vic, Alma, Bert, and the wonderful idea. This is a motivational address. Thank you for all your work with the plan of a newsletter. Be energetic!.

May we all remain healthy and happy,

I just spoke with Ma'lee Panganiban and truly seen her genuine love for all of us to have the best holiday season towards our hope to enjoy and to journey our lives.  As you know she is a US. Navy and they are really excellent people. She will contact my sis. Fran and between the two of them we will have the paradise in our own backyard. Hawaii is like our Philippines as to weather and to food except it is pricey but there is a way to make it reasonable.

Now, we have to really make sure who are going because at least the 6 months or more months booking is a must. I told her we should send a letter to all members that we have to make a commitment earlier or else we can not enjoy the give aways.  I will explain more later.  So if we are all positive for Sept. 28- 30 then we will set that date. I am for sure will go, and probably Ped if he will take valium while he travels.  he used to do that but his doctor do not approve anymore.  Well, I will pray harder.  he is laughing now.

Ma'lee can investigate if we can all qualify to stay in Halikawa Resort Hotel.  this is a 4 plus hotel and the facilities is excellent.  She will look into this at least by Oct. 2010.  I promised her that by 2011 we will know how many can go.  Is that possible?  We will also investigate how many of our classmates who are married to a US Navy.  I know Cila is.  The more navy  personnel the more we can have the benefits they all have as a Naval officers.

The other option is the cottages, for which I like the most because the backyard is the ocean.  You can be in the seashore for 12 hours and you will enjoy to your hearts content.  You will just get darker.  Well, we will wait for the two of them to meet and make a decision.  My sis. is a Retired Dentist in the US Navy so maybe she can do some arrangement.  Ma'lee will contact Fran and we will wait.  I spoke with her just now and she will help us for sure.

Bye now and must do my gardening and Dance tonight, 7-9:30 Pm. smile. How can I ever be tired of you guys, Bert please practice your swing dance and boogie. Vic,  wear a lot of sun blocker. My sister Estrella said it is really hot this time.  She is a nurse in Encinitas just a 2 -4 street near SanDiego.  All to you to bring sunshine all the time. No more rain Alma.,but my plants need it though. I 'll remain.
Mahalo, me ke Aloha, Lily { : )

Hello Everyone,
Good work, Lily. I believe on at least 6months knowing who the attendees are. Though we have two years to prepare, time goes so quickly. Good for us, we have people in Hawaii who can help us and the core group is very dedicated. By July 2011, we should have the registration ready. But until then -
At the least, things we must know ASAP!
Prospective Venues that we can choose from;
Cost of staying at those venues;
With these info, we can begin to discuss all other expenses and the possible registration fee . Post this in the Web and strategically target potential attendees to book the time Sept 28-30, 2010 free! I like the idea of a cottage (if I can afford) close by a beach.
Lily, I think I am hopeless when it comes to dancing, but will give it a try.

Cheers,
Bert

We welcome 2 more classmates to our website, Adonis Maravilla and Joseph Carpio. It so happen that I had the opportunity to meet Joseph yesterday as they were visiting Vancouver and Victoria area, plus, Cora N. Rauen were also in town after their Alaska cruise, so I asked her to join us, and with another classmate in my neighborhood, Orly Calasan who is also friends with Joseph, we had a mini get together. I shall post the pictures shortly.
Again, welcome Onette and Joseph, please feel free to join us in our daily chats and postings. Just a few rules to stick by when emailing; no gossips, no pornographic materials and no politics. Simple it maybe, but we want to keep this site mainly for fun and communications with our classmates and friends.

Subject: [pamilya_de_festejos] Are we still on Manila Reunion for 2012

Hello FEUMT69,
Just wondering....are we still on for the proposed 2012 reunion???? It seems no one has dealt with it and it is getting closer. The organizing is not there yet, the dates, the people    who will sign up, and the activities we'll be doing, the classmates in Manila who will be joining us??????
I was hoping Rolly would have some news for us, so we'll know what to do or when to get this event going. How about you, Narcing, any feedback from our web???
IT IS ALREADY FEBRUARY, AND WE HAVE EXACTLY 1 YEAR TO GET THIS REUNION UP AND GOING.
We had some good ideas when we were planning this last year, even talked to the alumni group in Manila, had some classmates there who came forward to help us out. I hope we'll be diligent enough to fire this up if we are still doing it.

Shall be awaiting for feedback.......Cheers!!!!!

Hi Everybody! GOOD NEWS! After meeting with some of our batchmates in Antipolo, our planned reunion for Feb, 2012 is still on. I will be sending another mail next week detailing the venues for the reunion with the help of our Philippine based classmates (see photos of DocMiniong) once I got back to Florida. I'm flying back on Wednesday. As you can see, we had a great time in Antipolo...treated royally by our host. Still all looking good, but more on the golden side..hehe. One thing for sure, is that we are all able to pull our senior citizen discount card when the time to pay the bill. It was a pleasure to see all of them. They are also anxious to see you all. Till next time. God Bless. Rolly

Hi Rolly,
t is time for planning again for our class reunion next year at FEU. I think to make it really very memorable as we are all getting older, we will plan to have our reunion within the grounds of our Alma Mater or at least have a one day spent with the group on campus. Who knows this could be our last reunion in the Philippines with our old classmates and friends that are still there. It has been a long time that I did not go home. Last time was in 1978 when my Mom was still there but when she came to the US in 1979 I had not much of a reason or desire to go home and since all my siblings are here.
For your info, I had a long phone conversation last Sunday with Jack Almazan who became a Doctor and has been practicing in London. We spoke about 45 minutes that long and talked about old times at FEU. He was vacationing in the US and that day I spoke with him he was in San Francisco. I mentioned to him about last 40th reunion in 2009 we had in San Diego, Menifee and Las Vegas as well as the upcoming reunion in February in PI. I hope he will be able to attend. I would like very much to attend our reunion in February, God willing I will still be up and around and healthy to travel with Adey.
Have a nice Super Bowl weekend. Regards to Beth.

Hi Auring and Classmates,
Just want to let you know that I'm finally back from the Philippines. While I will be working closely with our classmates from the Philippines for our final venue for next year's reunion, here's  actually what's going to happen, hopefully. There will be, first, the FEU Med Tech Alumni Annual Reunion Dinner, which is usually on a Friday evening. This year, will be on Feb 18, at the Shang-rila, Quezon City. I think Hermie and Manny are planning to attend that to get some idea for us. We are hoping that same weekend will be designated next year for that event. That Friday also, we can make it as a visit to the new campus at Fairview Medical/Med-Tech School/Hospital...then on Saturday, will be a visit at the old campus in Morayta, followed by a luncheon somewhere in that area, and  on Sunday, will be an Antipolo trip followed by a luncheon/merienda at Herminio's (DocMiniong) residence. We will be posting the details of this venue later on, but this is our plan for now. So, if you have any comments or suggestions for this event, would be happily welcomed. So, please encourage our classmates here/abroad to attend this reunion. God bless everybody, best regards to all.
Rolly
Hi Rolly,
Welcome back! Thanks for the info from your meeting with the locals regarding  the reunion. I have some suggestions, if you bear with me. How many days do we have to do this reunion. Is it just Fri-Sat and Sunday? I think we should have more than the 3 days. We can have a picnic/outing day for sure. We can also ask the alumni Association if we can have a reception at school to start with, so, everyone can meet there for the first time, and this can only be done once our dates are set, and to make sure that everyone ( esp. those coming fr overseas ) has arrived. There is also the question on how to reach out our classmates in the Phil. We can place an ad ( newspaper/ TV public service like Pinoy Inbox,) thru the alumni association and word of mouth. Reading thru your agenda sounds like you are not expecting many attendees. If we, in North America, are willing to go home to be with our classmates in the Philippines, at least they can also have a show of force to join the reunion. These are just some ideas we can look into. I remembered, when we went there with Cora, Ching and Dante, there was a Medicine group who were having a reunion at that time, and some of their agenda is a day picnic to Tagaytay, a golf tournament on another day, etc. Maybe, we have to consider these, when we organize our activities. Thank you, hope my 2 cents worth of hints will help out. Oh yeah, I got a message from Jack last week while he was in Sacramento but was unable to talk to him as I was in Las Vegas. He said, he's planning to come by Vancouver next year....I hope , on his way to the Philippine reunion!!!
Cheers,
Vic F
